Come hungry: this generous food tour takes you to places few visitors get to see. You visit several restaurants and market stalls, meet the people who run them and learn about their products, eating and drinking all the way.

1. Karakoy
Start in the lively streets of Karakoy, where old and new Istanbul meet, with cool cafes and boutique restaurants serving excellent local dishes. It is the perfect place for a morning coffee or a piece of borek.

2. Bosphorus ferry ride
Take the public ferry from the European side to the Asian side and see Istanbul's multicultural character. With Turkish tea and a simit (sesame bread ring) in hand, enjoy panoramic views of palaces, modern buildings, minarets, towers, bridges and green hills.

3. Kadikoy market
Arrive in Kadikoy, a neighbourhood famous for its market and food culture. Wander small streets full of vegetables, spices, cheeses and Turkish delicacies, meet friendly shop owners and taste handmade lahmacun, meze and fresh seafood, the best of authentic Turkish cuisine.

4. Spice Market
Back on the European side, visit the Spice Bazaar, also known as the Egyptian Bazaar. This centuries-old market is now home to spices, dried fruits, nuts, Turkish delight and baklava. You taste sweets and coffee with your guide and learn about the bazaar's cultural importance.

At the end of the tour your guide accompanies you back to the starting point.
