Tatlarin Underground City: on the way to the lake you stop at Tatlarin. Like the other underground cities of Cappadocia, it was built by Christians escaping persecution. You walk through ancient stone tunnels, storage rooms and hidden chambers while your guide brings the life that once filled them back to life, all away from the tourist crowds.
Salt Lake (Tuz Golu): next is the breathtaking Salt Lake, the second largest lake in Turkey. Its mirror-like surface reflects everything around it and is a wonderful place for photos. Your guide explains the lake's very high mineral content and how salt has been harvested here since ancient times. It is a favourite with photographers and nature lovers, and its calm is perfect if you want a break from busy city life.
