Itinerary
Day 1 - Explore Smyrna and Pergamon
We pick you up from your Istanbul hotel at the agreed time and take you to the airport for your flight to Izmir, where your guide is waiting to begin the trip.
Known in ancient times as Smyrna, Izmir is your first stop, followed by Pergamon. You will visit:
- St. Polycarp Church and the ruins of the ancient Agora
- Bergama, famous for the ruins of Pergamon
- The Acropolis
- The Asclepion, with its well-preserved theatre
At the end of the tour you are transferred to your hotel in Bergama. Overnight in Bergama.
Day 2 - Explore Thyatira, Sardis and Philadelphia
After breakfast your driver and guide meet you at the hotel. Today you visit:
- Thyatira: an ancient city founded by the Lydians.
- Sardis: the wealthy capital of the Lydian kingdom.
- Church of Philadelphia: an important centre for the spread of Hellenistic culture and the Christian faith.
At the end of the tour you are transferred to your hotel in Pamukkale. Overnight in Pamukkale.
Day 3 - Explore Pamukkale and Laodicea
After breakfast your private driver and guide pick you up from the hotel. Today you visit:
- The calcium travertines
- Hierapolis Ancient City in Pamukkale
- Laodicea, described in Revelation as the "lukewarm" church
- The partly excavated site of Colossae
At the end of the tour you are transferred to your hotel in Kusadasi. Overnight in Kusadasi.
Day 4 - Explore Kusadasi and Ephesus
After breakfast your driver and guide meet you at the hotel for a full tour of Ephesus, a remarkable record of ancient Greek and Roman culture. The day includes:
- Basilica of St. John
- House of the Virgin Mary
You are then transferred to Izmir Airport for your flight to Istanbul, where our representative meets you with a name sign and takes you to your hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 5 - Departure from Istanbul
You are transferred to the airport in time for your international flight.
