The Sema ceremony of the Whirling Dervishes is one of Turkey's most distinctive spiritual traditions and is recognised by UNESCO. At a selected venue in central Istanbul you watch the dervishes perform to live traditional Sufi music, in a ritual inspired by the teachings of Mevlana Rumi.

The performance lasts about one hour. Your admission ticket and reserved seat are arranged in advance, and an English-speaking assistant is on hand. It is a calm and memorable way to learn about Turkey's spiritual heritage.

Performances usually run from 18:00 to 19:00 or from 19:30 to 20:30, depending on the venue and the season. The final show time, meeting point and venue are sent to you after your booking is confirmed.
